Natick Cultural Council (NCC) seeks proposals for grants.

NCC is accepting proposals for community-oriented arts, humanities, and science programs from October 1, 2020 to November 16, 2020. November 16, 2020 is the postmark deadline for organizations, schools, and individuals to apply for grants that support cultural activities in the community.

These grants can support a variety of artistic projects and activities (virtual or in-person) -- including public art, exhibits, festivals, field trips, short-term artist residencies or performances in schools, workshops, and lectures. All applications will be considered but preference will be given to artists and organizations that provide benefit to the Natick community. Preference will be given to projects that are well-planned and meet council priorities. For more information, refer to the Natick Cultural Council website. The projects, performances and activities may be conducted virtually (online) or in-person, if and only if, they are following the state guidelines for COVID-19.

NCC is part of a network of 329 Local Cultural Councils serving all 351 cities and towns in the Commonwealth. The LCC Program is the largest grassroots cultural funding network in the nation, supporting thousands of community-based projects in the arts, sciences, and humanities every year. The state legislature provides an annual appropriation to the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency, which then allocates funds to each community.

Last year, NCC distributed $10,400 in grants to projects such as, Musical Baseball Show (Howie Newman), Intergenerational Connections (Golden Tones, Inc.), Signs of Kindness (Anne Lafluer), We the People (Carol Krentzman), and Pastel Paint (Gregory Maichack).

NCC will host a grant application information session on October 8, 2020 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM virtually on Google meet: meet.google.com/obx-dmqc-yaw. Members of NCC will be available to answer questions and offer assistance.

Application forms and more information about the Local Cultural Council Program are available online at http://www.mass-culture.org/lcc_public.aspx.
