Last Year marked the 5th anniversary of the Taste of MetroWest and what a celebration it was!

With 70 booths and over 1200 attendees, it was the biggest and best Taste yet. With special thanks to our presenting sponsor Framingham State University, last Tuesday the ballroom at the Sheraton was overflowing with delectable delights including duck risotto from Tomasso Trattoria, piping hot coffee from Red Barn Coffee Roasters, and stellar craft brews from Jack’s Abby, Crafted , Framingham Beer Works and Wachusett Brewing. Guests sampled a wide variety of ethic specialties from Soul of India, Mexico City, Rice Theory, Zarape, P.F. Changs and La Cantina Italiana. Bin End Wines kept the wine flowing and Charter Oak Country Club enticed folks with their house-made sangria. And for those who believe that you should eat dessert first, Cookie Lady Treats and the Melting Pot were sure to satisfy and we got dozens of compliments on the chocolate cake from Costco! Seafood lovers could enjoy Legal Sea Food’s chowder, The Double Tree’s crab cakes, Lobster bisque from Zoup or seared Ahi Tuna from the Outback. If you craved comfort food, Heritage at Framingham, Deluxe Depot Diner, Whitney Place and Paparazzi made you feel right at home. We had healthy and creative treats from J.P. Keefe, American Girl, Fresh City, and N.M Café. Diane Manteca, personal chef at the Bowditch and Dewey booth was busy all night. Traditional pub food was a hit at British Beer Works, Creative Entertaining by Roche Bros. and Skybokx 109 and tons of folks stopped by the indoor food truck from Peppers Fine Catering for an awesome Cod Taco. And to help you stay hydrated in the crowd, plenty of free water was available at the Nestle Waters/Poland Spring booth. While all the restaurants brought their A-game, here are the final results of the the balloting for the People’s Choice Awards:

Best Appetizer: The Cottage ~ Beef Tenderloin Crostini with Goat Cheese and Onion Jam
Best Entree: Sheraton Framingham Hotel & Conference Center ~ Shredded Machaka Beef over Pepper Jack Grits with Lime Crema
Best Presentation: Framingham State University ~ Molecular Gastronomy Microgreen Salad with Nitrogen Frozen Smashed berries & Great Hill Blue Cheese
Best Dessert: Chocolate Therapy ~ Sea Salt Caramel, The Cure,
Buzzmallow, New Peanut Butter Meltaway & Lemon Lavender
Best Beverage: The Verve Crowne Plaza, Natick ~ Verve Tequila
And we certainly loved having our community partners here. The maple syrup from the Natick Organic Farm was a huge hit and the artwork on display from Fountain St. Studios and Dzian Galleries added to the festive feel. We loved checking out the informative displays provided by all our non-profit partners and were happy to showcase all the great things available right here in MetroWest. And last but not least, a special shout out to the Sheraton Framingham for their exemplary efforts to make this a spectacular event and to our Sponsors, without whom this event would not be possible!
