MassBay Community College to Hold Student STEM Expo WELLESLEY HILLS, MA – Massachusetts Bay Community College will hold its bi-annual Fall STEM Expo on Wednesday, December 14, 2016 from 11AM – 12PM. Students in the Engineering, Math, Computer Science, Automotive Technology and Biotechnology fields will be presenting their work to the MassBay college community as well as external partners.
The Fall STEM Expo is an opportunity for MassBay students to showcase their creativity and innovation through the projects they have completed during the course of the semester. Guests learn about the students’ research as well as the processes that went into the creation of their work. At a time when businesses are clamoring for employees who have skills in the high-demand STEM fields, MassBay is providing a much needed source of “middle-skills” workers who have the education and training to fill these critically important positions.
The Expo is free and open to the public. We encourage business and industry professionals, community organizations as well as local high school students, teachers and administrators to attend. The Expo provides a window into the exciting work that is being done by students enrolled in the various STEM programs at the college. The STEM Expo is part of the STEM Starter Academy initiative to support students through programs that educate and introduce them to Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics fields of study and career opportunities.
