    MetroWest Chamber Educational Foundation to award $13,000 in Scholarship money to local students

    On Tuesday, May 10th, the MetroWest Chamber of Commerce  will award $13,000 in scholarship money to 13 graduating seniors from the MetroWest region.  A ceremony, followed by a reception will be held at Staples, Inc., 500 Staples Drive in Framingham beginning at 4pm.
    The MetroWest Chamber Educational Foundation Scholarships were established to assist public or private high school seniors who reside in the MetroWest area and wish to continue their education beyond high school.
    The students will receive a scholarship in the amount of $1,000 to help achieve their educational goals.  Partially funded by the Chamber’s Annual Golf Tournament and the Taste of MetroWest, five students will receive monies to pursue further education in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM).  The Educational Foundation will award six Emma, Arcadius and Robert Lemieux Scholarships in the amount of $1,000 each. Two additional $1,000 scholarships will be awarded for the second consecutive year.  The Walter Kelleher Memorial Scholarship will be received by a student with a concentration in early childhood education and the Doug Flutie, Jr. Foundation for Autism Scholarship was established to assist a student with an autism or autism spectrum disorder diagnosis pursue higher education.
